Defense Requests
Defense request form available in both pdf and word. Make sure to notify both the DL office and the Graduate Programs office when scheduling your defense!
Final Examination/Defense/Final Orals
Please note that all students are required to defend their thesis/project. Defenses must be scheduled ahead of time per Office of Graduate Studies policy. Please see the current calendar for dates.
Graduation Deadlines - May 2008
All potential Fall 2007 graduates please read!
Important dates for Fall graduation:
January 2: First day to apply for May graduation.
January 25: Last day to apply for May graduation.
May 8: Thursday Academic Degree Audits conducted after 5:00 p.m.
May 9: Friday Academic Degree Audit results available.
May 9: Friday Commencement
May 10: Saturday Commencement
Master of Engineering:
March 3: Midsemester – first day to take final orals for students enrolled in courses on degree plan.
March 28: Last day to submit “Request and Announcement of the Final Examination” or 10 working days prior to the examination, whichever comes first to the Office of Graduate Studies.
April 11: Last day to take final examinations.
Master of Science:
February 22: Last day to submit “Request and Announcement of the Final Examination” or 10 working days prior to the examination, whichever comes first to the Office of Graduate Studies.
February 22: Last day to submit “Request for Exemption from Final Examination”
March 7: Last day to take final exam. (defend thesis)
March 24: Last day to submit a signed approval form and a PDF file of the thesis in final form by 5:00 p.m. The signed approval form is submitted to the Thesis Office. The PDF file must be submitted via the web to http://thesis.tamu.edu.
April 25: Last day to submit final corrections of thesis to the Thesis Office by 5:00 p.m.
